Unlike traditional force feedback products, the 3rd Space Vest is an impact generating device that gives you precise pressure where it happens, as it happens. TN Games impact-generating technology utilizes a lightweight and durable air compressor to fire the 3rd Space Vests 8 fully customizable pneumatic cells, with each cell capable of delivering up to 10 pounds of force. The pneumatic cells fire at their own rate, force and duration, allowing the wearer to feel a wide array of sensory experiences, from crushing explosions to fear-inducing finger taps.

You'll experience amped reality with the 3rd Space Vest and notice a huge increase in your Situational Awareness - the cells are designed to simulate direction and force, so you'll always know where your opponent is. Information On Vest Sizes:

Please note that the 3rd Space Vest is highly adjustable in terms of fit and two sizes are available to accommodate almost any variation in body size. The goal is to have the vest fit as snug as is comfortable for the user - the snugger the fit, the better and more realistic the effects will feel. You should also note that vest sizes DO NOT CORRESPOND TO SHIRT SIZE! The size designations refer to the size of the fabric panels used for the front and back of the vest. The actual fit/ circumference of the vest is maintained by the chest and abdominal straps. It is essentially the same between all vests. The standard vest size for the vast majority of people is the size designation S/M (even those who wear L/XL shirts). For those individuals who are much bigger in size (2 XL-3XL or higher shirt size) the L/XL vest adds 1 inch in length and 0.5 inch in width to the front and back garment panels. The purpose of the larger panel size is to better maintain the alignment of the pneumatic actuators with your body.

How does the 3rd Space vest work?
The 3rd Space vest is a patented technology which uses an air compressor system (pneumatics) to inflate/deflate several specialized air pockets (or actuators) located within the front and back of the vest. The air pockets inflate and produce a physical strike against the user to produce the effects.

How many air actuators are in the vest?
There are 8: Four in the front and four in the back.

Where are the 8 actuators located?
The actuators are located over important anatomical areas that correlate to areas combatants would be targeting if they were trying to inflict damage on you in real life. These include Heart ( Front, left Chest), Lung (Front, right Chest) liver (Front, right abdomen) Intestines (Front, left lower), Lungs (Back, right & left upper), Kidneys (Back, right & left lower).

How much force am I hit with?
The actuators typically generate up to 5 lbs of impact force.

How strong is 5 lbs of impact force?
Take a single roll of 50 pennies. Lay on the ground face up. Hold the role of pennies end on (up and down) 6 inches above your stomach, then release the roll and let the roll strike your stomach. That is what 5lb of force feels like.

Will the vest hurt me?
Not if used properly. It is safe and fun.

Can I increase the strength of the impact hits?
Yes, by tightening the vest. The snugger the fit, the greater the impact. If the vest is not tightened up, the impact will be very weak.

Can I increase the pressure or force of the vest?
No. The game developers can vary the impact of the hits and effects in the game code. The user is not able to increase or decrease the operating pressure of the system.

Does the vest rumble?
NO! Rumble is a very basic technology which is used as an event indicator. 3rd Space technology is quite sophisticated and produces an actual impact to the user which can be used to emulate a variety of effects such as kicks, punches, blasts, bullet hits, ground effects, and G force effects.

Does the vest work with game consoles?
No. At this time, the vest works with only on the PC platform.

When will the vest work on my game console?
TN Games engineers are currently working on this. They have not yet set an official release date for this function but please check their website regularly for this important news update.

If I purchase a vest now, will that vest work on consoles when console support does occur?
YES. The system we are working on will allow each and every vest the ability to work on all major platforms once support of those platforms is announced.

How do you size the vest?
Sizing: Use the sizing chart below to select your fit. The FPS Vest offers an ample range of adjustability so there is overlap between the two available sizes. If you are on the borderline between S/M and L/XL, get the S/M. The snugger the fit the better and more realistic the effects will feel.

Will the 3rd Space Vest work with multiplayer games?
Yes. Supported multiplayer games are listed in the game driver.

When do you add new games to your list of supported titles?
TN Games are adding new titles as soon as they are available. You can find a complete list of the current titles on their Games/Drivers page and you can join their mailing list to receive email notification on the latest supported titles.

What is the game driver?
The game driver is a piece of software developed by TN Games which enables the 3rd Space vest to work with a wide variety of popular videogames.

How do I get the driver?
You can download the driver at no cost from the TN Games website.

How many games does the driver support?
TN Games update the driver every 2-4 weeks so please check their website often for the updated list of supported titles.

Does the driver work with any game?
No. Only the games listed as being supported will work with the driver. Some games which have been updated (new version) may stop working with the current driver until the driver is updated.

Do I need my game disc to play a game with the game driver?
Yes. You must be playing an authorized copy of the game which may require the use of a game disc.

How does the driver work with my game or game disc?
It is very simple. First launch the TN Games Driver software (A small 3rd Space icon will show in the lower tool bar of your PC) then start playing your game as you normally would. Of course you need to make sure the vest is on and connected to both the air compressor and the PC.

Can I make the 3rd Space vest work with my own game or mod?
Yes. If you are familiar with game development and computer programming, you may download TN Games SDK and implement these effects for yourself. You are free to customize effects as you like and be as creative as you like. If you create your own custom mod or game, you may share it with gamers by posting it on TN Games Forums.

Does the 3rd Space Game driver support multiplayer play?
Yes. See the list of compatible games listed on the web site. In some instances, playing in multiplayer environments on a punkbuster server, the vest triggers may not work. Switch to an alternate server type if this is an issue.

What are the minimum system requirements?
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP or higher.
CPU Speed: 1.5 GHz or Faster.
Memory: 512 MB or higher.
Video Card: Video Card must support DirectX 9.
